Litany of Confidence

Suggested Prayer Methods

1. Pray as a Litany from top to bottom. This can be done daily, allowing time for meditation on whatever rises to your attention from the Litany.

2. Pray as a Novena, using 3 passages a day. Option: divide the Novena into 3 times slots over the day using one passage each time as a brief meditation. This would be a Novena on the 9 themes.

3. Pray as a triple (27 days) Novena of Meditation, using 9 passages per Novena according to the 3 Works of God. Pray one passage per day, with meditation. Pray the first Novena for Humility, the second for your Petition, and the third in Thanksgiving. (For this method, a brief journal of each day can be a powerful tool for reflection and discernment.)

Litany of Confidence
in the Works of the Lord

From the Desire of God’s Heart…

Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
    but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

By day the Lord commands his
steadfast love;
    and at night his song is with me,
    a prayer to the God of my life.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.

Through the Spirit Within…

As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, so that you do not need anyone to teach you. But his anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not false; just as it taught you, remain in him.

Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with
inexpressible groanings.

On the Journey to God…

These are the words of the Lord of hosts:
Stand at the crossroads and look around;
    ask for the ancient paths.
When you are shown where the
good way lies,
    walk along it and your souls will find rest.

I will lead the blind on a way they do not know;
   by paths they do not know I will guide them.
I will turn darkness into light before them,
   and make crooked ways straight.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands… purify your hearts… humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.
